Let's make this session true to you and your family. This is your chance to capture memories during this season of life so let's make the most of it. Do you have something unique in mind or a favorite activity your kids love to do? Let's brainstorm and come up with some fun ideas to make your session feel authentic to you all.
Are you planning your session during the summer or winter? If you are traveling to Colorado for your session make sure to check the weather before you leave and make sure to plan your outfits accordingly. If your session is November-April make sure to include some layers in your outfit choices. If everyone is warm enough the session will go much smoother. Hot cocoa helps :
Do you have young kids who can't "sit still"? So do we! Our number one piece of advice is to let kids be kids. Let them play and explore, catch snowflakes, make a wish blowing dandelion seeds, and climb the fence. Let go of expectations and hold space for your kids to be themselves.

We will definitely get some nice, well-posed shots that will look fantastic on your holiday cards, but the session doesn’t start and end with a nice-looking photo. We want your kids to be kids, so laugh and play and maybe get dirty because they’re kids, and that’s the only way they are going to feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
If your little one screams and cries and needs a snack mid-session, it’s not a problem and you can count on us to capture the whole thing. The mess we make in the process of living is what creates the little imperfections that make us unique. We want to know your story and spend our time together capturing moments that will help tell it.

Don't worry if you've never had professional photos taken of yourself before and you’re worried you’ll feel a little.. awks. Believe me, you're not alone. It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous in front of the camera, honestly who the heck isn't? and it’s completely normal to feel a little unsure about what to do, where to look, or how to pose. That’s where we come in! As your photographer, it's our job to guide you and provide you with clear direction, helping you with everything from positioning your hands to finding the perfect angle. That is completely dependent on the type of session it is and the time of year but most tend to be about an hour or less.

Engagement and portrait galleries have about 80+ emotion packed images. Weddings are approximately 60/hr.

I always scout a location or shoot somewhere I've been to before. If you don't have a desired location you'd like to shoot, I'll scout and choose a location that best fits the circumstances.
How will we figure out a location?

The short answer is no. I do some slight blemish removal and skin smoothing but nothing beyond that. A part of my process is authenticity, I want my images to capture honest moments of beautiful human beings.

I want you to love and cherish your images forever. That being said, I do have a specific editing style so please make sure to review my work to make sure we are a good fit for each other.

Definitely! My work has evolved more into storytelling than portraiture. I direct my clients with prompts and movement rather than staged poses.
Will you pose us/tell us what to do?

Colorado has some notoriously unpredictable weather, but we also get 300 days a year of sunshine. If there is poor weather in the forecast we will stay in touch and try to plan around it, either change the time or even the day if we are both available.
