Jeff and Maddy’s Copper Mountain wedding at The Aerie Lodge had all the good stuff—mountain views, meaningful details, and people who clearly cared a lot about being there. They actually found me online while looking for a photographer who understands the mountains. That was big for them, finding someone who lives and works in the same kind of terrain they love, who understands that the light and weather up here can change faster than you can say “backup plan.”
Maddy grew up skiing at Copper, so this place was part of her story. You could feel that connection all day long. The mountains weren’t just scenery; they were home. Family was a huge part of it too. A lot of Jeff’s relatives made the long trip from China to celebrate with them, which was really special.

Jeff and Maddy put so much of themselves into this day. It was one of those weddings where every little thing meant something. The reception tables had these subtle Chinese elements woven into the design, symbols of luck and happiness tucked into a clean, modern mountain setup, honoring where they come from while staying true to who they are now.
Maddy surprised Jeff with a boudoir photo book during their first look, and his reaction was, well… let’s just say he didn’t hide his excitement. It was one of those moments where you’re half trying not to laugh behind the camera but also kind of tearing up because it’s just so real.

When the sun started to drop behind the Tenmile Range, we slipped away for a few minutes of quiet. The light was doing that perfect mountain thing. Jeff and Maddy were completely in their element, laughing, breathing it all in, and just enjoying being together. No direction needed. It was one of those moments where I mostly just stood back and let the scene unfold, because when the light and the emotion line up like that, you don’t mess with it.
These two had a choreographed first dance that totally fooled everyone. Then halfway through, they disappeared for a surprise outfit change and came back ready to party. Jeff and Maddy’s Copper Mountain wedding was about joy, family, and a shared love for the mountains that brought everyone together.
