Parker and Kristin’s Flagstaff House wedding felt like the perfect mix of who they are—laid-back, outdoorsy, and deeply connected to each other. Their story began back in college, where they were both D1 athletes. Even before that, they grew up just a short drive apart in Illinois, though it took moving away to cross paths. Fast forward six years, and after relocating to Colorado three years ago, they’ve built a life around exploring mountains, logging miles on trails, and pretty much saying “yes” to any adventure outside.
Choosing Boulder for their wedding wasn’t just about the views. It was about celebrating in a place that fits their lifestyle—somewhere that feels like home, where you can head straight from the ceremony into the trees and trails. The ceremony took place at Flagstaff House, and the whole day had that early summer magic: everything green, temperatures in the “finally perfect” zone, and a sky that didn’t make me once check the radar.

The reception at Flagstaff House didn’t feel like a big production. It felt like being invited to a really, really good dinner party with your closest people. It’s perched above Boulder with views for days, but inside it’s warm and intimate.
And then there’s the food. Flagstaff House racks up awards often, and for good reason. Every course came out looking like art but tasted like something you’d want seconds of (and maybe thirds). I know we were here for a wedding, but also let’s acknowledge that this is basically the best dinner in Boulder.
Of course, the part that stuck with me wasn’t just the food or the setting—it was the emotional weight woven into the night. Kristin’s dad had passed away a few years back, and they honored him with a memorial table that quietly reminded everyone of his presence. During the speeches, Kristin had written him a letter, and her mom stood up to read it. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I rarely cry at weddings, but that moment got me. It was heavy, yes, but also filled with so much love.

After the ceremony, we headed up the mountain for portraits, and honestly, those moments ended up being some of my favorites from the whole day. Flagstaff Mountain in early summer means the fields are alive, the light feels soft, and it makes even a simple walk look cinematic.
The rest of the evening carried that same balance of emotions. There were tears during the speeches, but also plenty of laughter during toasts and little side conversations. It was never too heavy, never too formal—just this honest mix of joy, grief, and gratitude, all happening in one room.

“We truly cannot say enough good things about Lizzy! She’s the kind of person who just gets it—calm, kind, super professional, and somehow always in the right spot at the right time. On the day of the wedding, Lizzy brought such a calming presence and positive energy. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and even the more posed moments felt fun and natural. She captured so many little in-between moments we didn’t even realize were happening—laughs, tears, hugs, everything. The photos are absolutely stunning. Looking through them feels like reliving the day in the best way. We’re beyond grateful we had her there with us and we can’t recommend her enough!”
